CardSwaps World Cardmaking Day Blog Hop!

Hello, you are on the CardSwaps World Cardmaking Day Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Angelina's blog...I just love the work that she does :)   If you didn't start at the beginning, you should check out Lora's blog so that you can see all of the talented people on this hop :)

Why hop around? Well, if you
comment on every blog by midnight CST, October 3, 2010, you will be entered in to a drawing for prizes. The full list of prizes are on Lora's blog here:http://craftsaremything.blogspot.com/2010/09/blog-hop-prizes.html.

There is a
mini crop going on at CardSwaps and you are invited to play. Each member on the blog hop received a challenge in advance to showcase and entice you to participate!)

The challenge from the mini crop I am showcasing is:
Use ribbon or strips of paper to build your own background.

To make this card I used...
Orange, white and black cardstock
Happy Halloween stamp by Studio G(gotta love the dollar bin at JoAnn's)
Fiskars scalloped punch
Black gems(found at Archivers)
Assorted Halloween ribbon(made by Darice)

This card was super simple to make, I made an orange card base that measured 4x9.25.  Next I cut the white cardstock to be 2.5 inches.  I took my various ribbon and created a pattern that I liked.  Then I punched my black cardstock with my scalloped punch and attached it to the bottom of the white cardstock.  Next I put the white cardstock onto the orange cardbase.  Finally I stamped "Happy Halloween" on the orange cardbase and put the black gems across the top.

I stared making cards about 2 years ago...I received a subscription to the magazine CardMaker for my birthday and that led me to their wonderful message board.  All of the people on the message board are so nice and everyone makes beautiful cards.  I really enjoy making cards because I feel that they are much more personal than the ones that you can buy at the store.

You have until midnight, CST, October 3, 2010, to post your comment on each blog on the hop (that includes mine, please!). Everyone that comments on each blog will be entered in to the drawings for blog hop prizes. In addition, if you want to participate in the challenges for the mini crop at Card Swaps, go check it out after the blog hop and upload your completed project by midnight CST, October 3, 2010. There are prizes to win there, too! I hope you complete the challenge I showcased and I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Now that you have completed the blog hop please please please go and check out the awesome crop that has been put together :)  You can find out all about the crop here

  40. OMG! My dog did the exact same thing your dog did, only it was one of those ball-inside-a-ball things, so her head was pinned to the inside wall of the larger ball by the smaller ball. Every time I tried to pull it off, she's squeal and run forward because her ears (she's a ratterrier so they're like huge satellite dishes!) had pushed through then popped back up over her head again so they were keeping her from getting her head out. I was afraid we were going to have to go to the vet and have them cut it off of her (the ball, not her head) with a bone saw, but then my husband came home and sort of wove her ears back out. Poor girl! The expression on her face when she was stuck in the ball was priceless. It totally communicated, "Uh...I did something reeeeaaaaally stupid." Funny little dog!
